EXTENDED FORECAST FOR CLOVIS, NM
Saturday, March 13, 201032°|65°
*****DON'T FORGET TO SET YOUR CLOCKS AHEAD ONE HOUR BEFORE GOING TO BED SATURDAY NIGHT!***** *****DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME BEGINS AT 2AM SUNDAY!***** Just in time for the upcoming weekend, we will see less wind, more sunshine and high temperatures much closer to where we should be this time of the year. In fact, mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies should be enjoyed by everyone on Saturday as high temperatures warm into the upper 50s to upper 60s by late day. Winds will blow from the northwest to west at speeds averaging 10-20 mph.
Sunday, March 14, 201031°|56°
*****DON'T FORGET TO SET YOUR CLOCKS AHEAD ONE OUR BEFORE GOING TO BED SATURDAY NIGHT!***** *****DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME BEGINS 2AM SUNDAY!***** As we lose an hour of sleep (but gain an hour of daylight in the evenings), another upper-level storm will be poised to drop into the area. It will spread clouds into the High Plains during the day and by Sunday evening, a few rain showers may move in as well...especially across western parts of the High Plains. High temperatures will cool off behind a weak cold front set to arrive early in the day, so instead of 60s, most of us will be back in the 50s. The wind will also increase from the northwest and north up to 15 to 25 mph with some gusts upwards of 35-40 mph possible.
Monday, March 15, 201033°|47°
Beware of the ides of March! With another upper-level storm tracking across the area, we'll have a renewed chance for rain showers that could be mixed with some light snow during the morning hours on Monday! As temperatures warm during the morning hours, the snow will changeover to rain with a strong northeast to north wind adding an extra bite to the air. Wind speeds will be between 20 and 30 mph most of the day with some gusts upwards of 40-50 mph possible. That will keep wind chill values down in the 20s and 30s most of the day as well. Rainfall totals of a quarter to half an inch will be possible.
Tuesday, March 16, 201031°|57°
A few lingering rain/snow showers will be possible early Tuesday morning before the upper-level storm starts moving away from us. In its wake, we'll see the clouds decrease and temperatures slowly start to rebound. Highs will be in lower 50s to near 60° with a northwest to west wind blowing at 15-25 mph with some gusts upwards of 35-40 mph possible.
Wednesday, March 17, 201032°|63°
Wednesday is shaping up to be a pretty nice day as surface and upper-level high pressure move in behind a departing storm system that brought us rain and snow chances Monday and early Tuesday. High temperatures will warm into the middle 50s to the middle 60s as westerly to southwesterly winds blow at speeds averaging 10-20 mph throughout the day. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies will prevail.
