FRITCH,TEXAS -- The Fritch Fortress boat ramp at Lake Meredith has temporarily closed for maintenance repairs.

"We needed to close the boat ramp so that we could make some necessary repairs," said Chief of Maintenance Jimmy Muncy. "We want to ensure that everyone who uses the ramp can do so in a safe manner."

With the Fritch Fortress ramp closed, the only available ramp is the Marina boat ramp at Sanford-Yake. Boaters need to be aware that they will have to back farther out into the water in order to launch their boats. With only one ramp open, boaters should also be prepared for some congestion and longer wait times for launching and loading their boats.

Forty-six feet is the minimum level needed for boaters to successfully launch at Fritch Fortress. After the repairs are made the ramp may remain closed until the lake reaches the 46 foot mark. The current lake level is 45.34
