AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Get ready to see a bigger and brighter full moon this weekend. Saturday's full moon will be a super "perigee moon"...the biggest in almost 20 years. Experts say the moon will look big and bright because of it's positioning from Earth. Saturday's moon will be about 31,000 miles closer to Earth than when it's at the farthest point of it's orbit. The moon will rise in the east at sunset and should look especially big at that time because of what's known as the "moon illusion". Make sure you go outside to witness this weekend's super moon, because if not, you'll have to wait until 2029 to see it again.

Pronews 7 wants to see your moons this weekend. Be sure to snap a photo and send it to truiz@kvii.com We will choose a winner on Monday. They will receive a family-pack of tickets to an Amarillo Bulls hockey game.
