OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A freeze warning is in effect for the Oklahoma Panhandle as the coldest weather so far this season settles into the area.

The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning for the Panhandle from 1 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday and again from Friday night to Saturday morning. Forecasters say low temperatures are expected to dip into the upper 20s and lower 30s in the overnight hours.

Forecasters warn that the freezing temperatures will kill crops and other vegetation.

Elsewhere in the state, a freeze watch is in place for northern and western Oklahoma, where overnight lows will range from 28 to 32 degrees.
