James Robert McCormick
June 11, 1929 - December 4, 2012
Died December 4, 2012 at the age of 83, worked at KVII as CPA from 1968-1972, and as General Manager from 1972-1993. A local icon in the entertainment business, he took KVII-TV channel 7 to number 1 where it remained for many years. He associated with local leaders and Hollywood celebrities equally as well.
Jim served in the army from 1950-1952, during the Korean era, graduated from West Texas State University in 1953.
He took his children and wife Melba, to various ABC premiers in Hollywood, a wonderful experience. Jim has six children, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Several years following the loss of his first wife, Jim married Georgiann Kleman, who brought with her 7 children, 23 grand children, and 12 great grandchildren, truly making it yours, mine, and ours.
Jim was known by many, and will be missed by all.
