Texas Rangers wrap up an officer-involved shooting investigation

PAMPA, TEXAS -- Two officers involved in a shooting in Pampa have been put on leave, while they await a grand jury to decide what comes next.
Texas Rangers finished their investigation of a deadly officer-involved shooting that occurred Nov. 28 in Pampa, said Department of Public Safety Trooper Daniel Hawthorne in a press release Friday.
The two officers involved are Jimmy Skinner and Joey Roberts of the Pampa Police Department, Hawthorne said. Both have been put on administrative leave, standard procedure for the PPD according to Hawthorne.
As reported by Travis Ruiz on the day of the incident, police responded to a 911 call of a domestic disturbance at 4:23 p.m., in the shopping complex near the block of North Hobart Street.
When police arrived, David Scott, 45, of Pampa, pointed a handgun at officers, who then fired at Scott, killing him, said Hawthorne. Scott was pronounced dead at the scene by officials.
Investigators from the Texas Rangers presented evidence to the Gray County district attorney, Lynn Switzer. A Gray county grand jury will look at the evidence on Dec. 12 to determine what would happen next to the officers, said Hawthorne.
