Perryton ISD: Bomb threat suspect in custody

PERRYTON, TEXAS -- UPDATE: Two juvenile suspects are now in custody in Tom Green County. The suspects 13 and 14 years old. The call originated from Tom Green County.

At 7:30 this morning, Perryton police responded to an anonymous call stating that a bomb was inside the Junior High School. A Junior High School teacher received the call and alerted authorities.

Perryton ISD official evacuated the Junior High and Kinder campuses following the threat.

Authorities searched the school, no bomb was found during their search, Perryton ISD Superintendent Robert Hall said.

At this time the suspect is in custody and authorities have not released any information regarding the suspect other than the fact that the suspect is a former Perryton Junior High Student.

Ochiltree County Sheriff Terry Bouchard said that authorities do not believe the threat was sincere.

Classes are still expected to resume at 1 p.m. today.
