APD investigates bank robbery

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Tuesday morning at approximately 9:28 a.m. Amarillo Police responded to First Bank Southwest on a reported bank robbery.

When officers arrived at the scene, witnesses told police that a man walked in the front door wearing a black ski mask, black jacket, whit gloves and dark pants. He had his hand inside of his jacket pocket and he was was carrying a small travel bag.

The suspect is described as a man with a medium build, 5'7" and his race was undertermined.

According to a news release from Amarillo Police Department, the man walked up to the counter and told the teller to give him all "all the cash." The teller gave the suspect and undisclosed amount of money, the man then put the money into the bag and then walked out of the store.

At the time of the release no information about the suspect's vehicle was available.

No injuries were reported.
