$2.7M worth of Cocaine seized in DPS traffic stop

The Texas Department of Public Safety seized 43,000 grams of Cocaine worth $2,791,488 during a traffic stop on Sunday Feb. 10, 2013.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. a DPS trooper stopped a Nissan Versa heading east on Interstate 40 one mile outside of Vega for a traffic violation.

According to a news release, the DPS trooper searched the vehicle during the stop and found 32 packages of Cocaine underneath the driver and passenger seats.

Justin Dae Kim, 25, of Maple, Ontario was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Kim was booked into the Oldham County Jail.

The drugs were allegedly being transferred from Ontario, California to Ontario, Canada.
